Graduate Engineer

A Graduate Engineer performs office based design work using various software tools. Opportunities to carry out onshore and offshore site work in the UK will also be available.

This position provides the opportunity to further develop a very good understanding of electrical and electronic principles applied to control and safety systems through reading, further education and practical work including interaction with all technical staff in the company.

Reports to: Technical Manager and designated Systems Engineer.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Carry out any work as required by the company
  • Produce comprehensive reporting according to documentation standards followed by the company
  • Cultivate and maintain a professional image at all times

The work will cover the following areas:

  • Implementation of control and safety systems
  • Installation of control and safety systems
  • Assist with commissioning of control and safety systems
  • Support and maintenance of in-house IT systems
  • Periodic testing of systems and software
  • Engineering of modification packages
  • Production of Reports

Training Records:
Maintain comprehensive records of all training and experience for use in progressing towards Chartered
Engineer status and corporate membership of the IET.

Graduate Software Engineer

Process Safety Solutions core operations are in the UK Oil and Gas industry specializing in the design, modification and maintenance of Safety and Control Systems.

The Head office is based in Aberdeen with satellite offices in Wick and Colchester (Colchester based in the Knowledge Gateway at Essex University campus).

We currently have an opportunity at the Colchester office for a Graduate Software Engineer

As part of the software development team, your duties will include:

  • The development of new software tools.
  • Implementing, testing and documenting related software features.
  • Improving, optimising and extending existing code.

Requirements – Knowledge, experience, skills, and competencies:
To be considered for this position, you must have:

  • Excellent skills in languages, such as VB.NET, C++, amongst others.
  • A bias toward simplicity and maintainability in the code you write and the products you build.
  • A degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or Engineering.
  • Good analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • A strong desire to learn and explore new technologies.
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills.
Senior Engineer

A Senior Engineer performs office based design work using various software tools. Opportunities to carry out onshore and offshore site work in the UK will also be available.

This position requires a good understanding of electrical and electronic principles applied to control and safety systems.

Qualifications:

  • Engineering degree preferred

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years safety system experience (software & hardware)

The work will cover the following areas:

  • Specification of control and safety systems
  • Design of control and safety systems
  • Installation of control and safety systems
  • Lead commissioning of control and safety systems
  • Support and maintenance of in-house IT systems
  • Periodic testing of systems and software
  • Lead engineering of modification packages
  • Production of Reports
  • Development of Software Tools

Training Records:
Maintain comprehensive records of all training and experience for use in progressing towards Chartered

Systems Technician

A Systems Technician performs office based design work using various software tools. There will be opportunities to carry out onshore and offshore site work in the UK.
